Very nice service from kind staff. Good food and reasonable prices. Large outdoor seating area. Great location! We ate there for an early dinner our first night in town. To eat we shared the Paella for 6 and Fideuà for 2 with no sides and it fed all 8 in our party with plenty to spare. We went back a few days later for lunch and enjoyed a few other small items on the menu.

Dine with a sea view at Restaurant la Vela. The calamari and fried fish were good starters. Chargrilled chicken was smoky and delicious. It was my first time to hear about fideua, so I tried it. The serving was generous but a bit salty. Cap it with creama catalana.

Fantastic food and great service and a view to knock your socks off. After our first meal here we came back two more times -- ignoring the other restaurants open. We had the fresh grilled fish (turbot and sea bass) and a side order of roasted veggies for the two larger meals. Both fish were exceptional, as were the roasted veggies. The servers are very nice, too. This restaurant appears to be popular with locals, as we saw many people who live here greeting friends. Great coffee, too! A definite must if you are in Calella.

The food was very good. I tried the fish & shellfish platter, spicy potato, ceaser salad, lamb rib and the tomato bread. All were delicious and the portions were big. The menu did not include any individual seafood main courses which were not perfect. The waiters were busy but when they were seving you, you felt their cheerfulness. The location of the restaurant is next to the smaller beach but the view is good.

Beautiful place to have a wonderful lunch or dinner. Really good menu. We really enjoyed our meals when on holiday in Calella de Palafrugell. La Vela was one of our most visited restaurants. The menu of the day was perfect
